Fires Creek Area
The Fires Creek area located in Clay County
on the Tusquittee Ranger District offers a wide variety of outdoor recreation.
Trout fishing, picnicking, hiking and camping are all available within
the area. The 25-mile Rim trail follows the ridge around the area providing
scenic views. The Fires Creek area supports a variety of fishing
opportunities including backcountry trout fishing in the upper section
of Fires Creek and more accessible fishing on the lower end of the Creek.

Directions from Murphy
North Carolina: follow Hwy 64 east for 9miles then
turn North onto NC 1302 for four miles. Then turn left onto NC1344
for 1.7 miles.
