We hope you are having a great Summer, we are really enjoying our exploration. The more we travel, the more we are learning about the mountains and their nature. May and June were great months for wildflowers.
This month the Blackberries are getting ripe, we had a great crop right next to our driveway. Blackberries are sweetest when they look like they are about to pop, so we were just picking a couple a day waiting for the rest. This morning we woke to find out they were all gone, even the red ones, I guess the resident wildlife beat us to them....oh well, we're going to hike further up the mountain and look for more.
Join us in the mountains this month for a great time. Before you take to the road be sure to check for any Special Offers from our Advertisers to help you plan your trip. Events are separated by state and county, and there is a lot going on in July. The Georgia Mountain Fair is coming soon, it runs from July 19-30, 2006, its a great festival that you'll want to visit in Hiawassee Georgia on the shores of Lake Chatuge. If you are traveling to another area of the mountains there are plenty of other great events, check our events and festivals calendar to find one that suits you.
Highlander's Latest County and Town Profiles
We are proud to announce that we just added Sevier County Tennessee to the Highlander. For those that are not familiar with the county name, Sevier is the County of Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville Tennessee.
Each of these towns are so different from one another, and each have something special to offer, all worth exploring. Our favorite part of visiting Sevier County was going to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, what an incredible American treasure.
Take a virtual tour of Sevier County Tennessee and see why you will want to visit.

Madeleine's Organic Garden
Madeleine has progressed quite nicely with her garden and is very excited to watch it grow. Some plants are growing faster than others, and she has harvested her first zucchinis.
Madeleine learned an "extra" valuable gardening lesson. Don't let the new kitty near your plant starts. Carlie her new adopted kitten was quite fond of the broccoli plant starts, so there won't be any broccoli this year.
