Folk School Concerts Folk School Concerts are open to the public. They are scheduled for most (but not all) Friday evenings at 7:30. The public is welcome to enjoy a public display of Folk School student crafts from 6:40-7:00 p.m. in the Keith House Community Room, where the concerts are held. Free Admission.

Shape Note Singing
John C. Campbell Folk School

10:30 am - 3:00 pm Pot luck "Dinner On the Grounds" 12:30 pm Admission to the singing is free. Originally published in 1866, William Walker's Christian Harmony is the oldest seven shape collection to have remained in continuous use, primarily in Western North Carolina and North Georgia. The Folk School's annual singing draws more than 70 singers from four states.

The Folk School recognizes the need to expose today?s youth to art, music and traditional mountain crafts, while also giving families much-needed time together. Benefit Auction
John C. Campbell Folk School

The Folk School will entertain an audience of art lovers and school supporters at its annual Benefit Auction on Saturday, August 15. With emcee Jan Davidson, auctioneers Tim Ryan and Bob Grove return this year to guide the lively, spirited bidding. Numerous one-of-a-kind handcrafted items donated by talented craftspeople and artists will be auctioned, including pottery, ironwork, basketry, wood items, paintings, weavings, rugs, jewelry, and more. Auction proceeds benefit the education programs at the Folk School. Enjoy a fun afternoon as you support a good cause!

The Folk School is home to one of the country's leading artist blacksmith programs. Our annual Blacksmith Auction presents some of the finest artist blacksmith and other fine craft items for sale. Proceeds benefit the craft programs at the Folk School. Join us as Auctioneers Tim Ryan and Bob Grove, along with emcee Jan Davidson, motivate the bidding for special items in a most entertaining way! Handmade craft of all types, including forged metal, fiber, jewelry, wood items, pottery, and more have been donated by friends of the Folk School, and are yours for the bidding!

Holiday in the Mountains Week
John C. Campbell Folk School

This week of classes is the perfect precursor to your time with family and friends later in the month of December. Don?t shop for gifts this year ? make them! Learn to create hand-hooked ornaments, carve a Santa from wood, or tell tales from the winter season. There are 16 classes to choose from plus extra-special evening activities including a handbell concert and a dramatic reading of "A Christmas Carol," all of which will get you in the holiday spirit.
