2009 GEORGIA MOUNTAIN ROOTS AND MUSIC FESTIVAL

June 5th through June 6th
Tickets are now on sale for the 2009 Roots and Music Festival at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds. The festival will celebrate the heritage and traditional music of our mountains as well as contemporary acoustic acts in the bluegrass, folk, and Americana genres. Over 60 arts and crafts booths will be on display Saturday and Sunday featuring everything from hand crafted pottery, jewelry, photography and clothing.
The festival also invites local musicians from novice to advanced to Jam at the informal picking pavilion throughout the week-end. The festival lineup includes local, regional and national acoustic acts.
On Friday June 5th - 6 PM to 11 PM - Buck & Nelson, Irons in the Fire, Dale Ann Bradley Seldom Scene.
On Saturday June 6th - 1 PM to 11 PM - Town Mountain, Jim Lauderdale, The Steeldrivers, Red Stick Ramblers, The Greencards, Dan Tyminski.
As a co-founder of the groundbreaking New Grass Revival Band in the late 1970’s Bush was pioneer almost 35 years ago but his recent work is evidence that he is still a vital presence on the acoustic music scene. He has headlined major festivals from coast to coast including Merlefest and Telluride and is known for his wide ranging choice of material and his captivating high-energy shows.
The 2009 Roots and Music Festival will open its doors at 6pm on Friday, June 5th and closes at 11:00pm.
Saturday, June 6th hours are 1 pm until 11pm.
