Nov. 5 is the kickoff for the 20th annual Pigeon Forge Winterfest, which runs through Feb. 28, 2010.

The multi-faceted event is on the list of Top 100 Events in North America as selected by the American Bus Association.  Five million Winterfest lights decorate the city, and another three million decorate Dollywood through its Smoky Mountain Christmas season.  

Many theaters offer special holiday programs through the end of the year, and two city-sponsored festivals highlight January and February.  

Those festivals are Wilderness Wildlife Week in January and Saddle Up! in February.
